Top 5 Photo Locations In The Peak District

The Peak District is my local place to go for a photo adventure and these are a few of the places that make it so great.

No. 1

Bamford Edge

This is my favourite view in the whole of the Peak District and itโ€™s easy to see why! This is best viewed as the sun sets over the reservoir.

Parking can be found on the roadside. Follow the path until you can see the reservoir from the top of the rocks.

No. 2

Winnats Pass

Early morning start if you want to experience Winnats Pass at its best. If you get the conditions just right Winnats Pass is transformed into sea of clouds with a bright burst of sunrise bouncing off the valley below.

Youโ€™ve got a few parking options here but I personally park at the top on the side of the road and follow the path to the prime photo locations.

No. 3

Lud's Church

High walls and muddy floors in an enchanting forest. This ones hard to find but worth the trek to visit.

Parking here involves a short walk from the nearby car park and the entrance is sign posted once near.

๐Ÿ“ Lud's Church Car Park, Gradbach, Buxton

No. 4

Thor's Cave

This giant hole in the side of a hill is a must visit if youโ€™re in the south end of the Peak District, just be careful as the floor is one of the slippery places around and will have you falling straight back out the way you came!

Parking is limited around here but if you can find parking in one of the nearby layโ€‘bys then follow the path until you reach a bridge the climbs the steps till you reach the cave.

๐Ÿ“ Wetton, Ashbourne DE6 2AF

No. 5

The Roaches

The Roaches is one of the less visited places in the Peak District among photographers but it offers some amazing views and strange rock formations with cows roaming around with plenty of photo opportunities.

Parking can be found at the side of the road with a short walk up a path to the top.

๐Ÿ“ Roach Rd, Upper Hulme, Leek ST13 8UA
